The Lingam is an abstract or aniconic representation of the Hindu Deity Shiva in Shivism. Lingam is shaped like a pillar with a round top by using brass. This object makes the presence of the invisible transcendental reality of Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction. Lord Shiva’s Lingam is a representation of the Universe and it signifies an entry into the spiritual realm which is the Ling in oval shape and the Panapattam, which signifies the Universal self (Lord Shiva) in his aroused state. In this universe every being, matter,celestial bodies are oval in shape. The shape of the milky way, solar system are all oval. The Lingam is shaped like an egg and represents the ‘Brahmanda’ or the cosmic egg. Linga signifies that the creation is affected by the Union of Prakriti and Purushaes, the male and female power of nature.

According to Hindu mythology, millions of Hindu ladies of course worship the Shiva Linga regularly but they shouldn’t touch it and every one should stay away from non-veg foods, onion, garlic, and raw milk etc. throughout Shravan Mass. Raw milk helps in cleansing the negativity in the aura and correlates the mind and water, similarly the addition of milk after pouring holy water is believed to nurture and nourish the brain and soul with goodness, compassion, noble thoughts and satvik mindset.

Keeping this in mind, we placed Shiva Linga under Naga Devata with Nandi maharaj in front of him, thus one can keep it at home for regular worship.
